SODA FIRE
In the soda firing process, soda ash (sodium carbonate), salt, and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), are sprayed into the kiln at maturing temperature around cone 10 or 2380°F. The sodium vapor combines with silica in clay to form sodium-silicate glaze. The technique leaves a one of a kind glassy runny glaze on ceramic pieces. Its by far my favorite way to glaze!
